What is Adaptive Gaming?
Standard video game controllers were developed for users with specific types of abilities and may exclude some individuals from playing video games who may not be able to access a standard controller. Adaptive video gaming is a growing field that was developed to make video gaming more accessible for all users with varying abilities. Currently, there are many different alternative controllers that are available to make gaming more accessible for those unable to physically access a standard controller. This has allowed more people, regardless of ability, to play video games alongside each other.
