Connecting Quadstick Controller to PlayStation 5: PS5MATE
Set-Up Difficulty: Easy
The PS5MATE adapter is a plug-and-play option that allows different controllers to work on the PS5. The Quadstick and the Xbox Adaptive Controller are not directly compatible with the PS5MATE, however they can be made compatible using the Magic-X adapter. The Magic-X adapter can be plugged into the PS5MATE and then the Quadstick or Xbox Adaptive Controller can be plugged into the Magic-X to be compatible with the PS5MATE. This system can then be plugged into the PS5, allowing either the Quadstick or the Xbox Adaptive Controller to work on the PS5. This is currently one of the simplest options for getting these adaptive controllers to work on the PS5 console. Please note that the touchpad can only be accessed by touching the side button on the PS5MATE when using this method. Please see the video for instructions.
Connecting Quadstick Controller to PlayStation 5: Beloader Besavior
Set-Up Difficulty: Medium
One of the few adapters that currently allows the Quadstick to work directly with the PS5 without using remote play is the Beloader Besavior adapter. This adapter is more expensive than other adapters on the market but is a reliable option for setting up the Quadstick with the PS5 that is less prone to getting blocked by updates on the console. Please follow the directions outlined in the video to set up the Quadstick with the Beloader Besavior adapter. Please note that if using the Beloader adapter with the Quadstick, there is limited touch pad support (press only) and no motion controls.
Connecting Quadstick Controller to PlayStation 5: Cronus Zen
Set-Up Difficulty: Medium
The Cronus Zen adapter will allow the Quadstick to connect the PS5 console. A workaround for connecting the Cronus Zen to the PS5 after the January 24th update was recently discovered. The January 24th update initially blocked the Cronus Zen from working completely on the PS5. However, the instructions shown in the video will allow the Cronus Zen to connect to the PS5 directly without using remote play. This will allow adaptive controllers, including the Xbox Adaptive Controller and the Quadstick, to work with the PS5 console. The downside of this method is that each time the console powers off or restarts, the setup will have to be reinitiated. Instructions are outlined in the video from the 5:00-6:00 timepoints, and should be followed each time the console restarts or reboots. This is currently one of the few options for allowing adaptive controllers to work with the PS5 directly without using remote play.
